Lori Mendenhall-Lee posted a career-high 73 assists in the Bengals 3-2 loss to Northern Arizona. The Bengals came out strong beating the Lumberjacks 25-14 with a team attack percentage of .667. They won the second 25-18 before dropping the last three 25-20, 26-24 and 16-14.
"We have to bounce back," said Mendenhall. "We have to play better next week. We need to practice hard."
Tressa Lyman,
Makenzie Filer,
Sommer Reeder and
Marissa Todd all posted double-figure kills. Reeder had 16 kills on 20 attempts for an attack percentage of .650. Lyman posted the Bengals sole double-double with 22 kills and 11 digs. She posted an attack percentage of .404.
Filer, who holds the Idaho State record for attack percentage, posted 20 kills on 34 attempts for an attack percentage of .441.
Marissa Todd posted 11 kills.
Freshman
Hayley Farrer, along with Lyman, led the Bengals in digs with 11. She also posted four assists. Filer and Lyman led in blocks with three each.
Kylee Sessions and Lyman both posted two service aces.
As a team, the Bengals posted an attack percentage of .368, edging out Northern Arizona's .345. They Bengals were out-blocked 17-10.
"After a loss, I'm not always proud of my team, but I'm proud of the girls tonight," said Head Coach
Chad Teichert. "They played really well, but we just got out-played."
The Bengals are back in Reed Gym next Friday, Nov. 1, to take on Big Sky leader North Dakota at 7 p.m.
