POCATELLO, Idaho - The Bengals topped Montana State in three games (25-20, 25-19, 25-21)  tonight at Reed Gym.

"We're a bit older team than they are - they're a very young team," said Head Coach Chad Teichert. "They're good and sometimes it takes a while to pull it out. Over time, the team that is a little bit better ends up, in the long run, winning. We weren't overpoweringly better, but we were a little bit better at several things and we were able to show that in the score, just not always early on."

The lead changed ten times in the match and was tied 27 times.

Alydia Fields-Grimm and Tressa Lyman both posted double-doubles in the win. Both had 10 kills and 10 digs.

"We have five people, who, when they are on their game, can all hit the ball great," said Teichert. "And Lori's smart enough to mix it up. She brings a lot of hustle and a lot of confidence to the court. She makes a lot of really good decisions."

Lori Mendenhall-Lee led in assists with 33, posted three assisted blocks and had a .750 attack percentage.

Whitney Harrington led in assisted blocks with six. Lyman posted two solo blocks and three assisted blocks.

"We've been working a lot [on blocking] in practice," said Fields-Grimm. "We struggled a little with that in the beginning, but I think we are starting to hit our groove. We've really been working on that."

As a team, the Bengals posted a .234 attack percentage compared to Montana State's .129. They outblocked the Bobcats 22-14.

The Bengals take on Montana tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym.
