Bengal Women Host Black Hills State in the First Game of the Season

POCATELLO, Idaho
- Idaho State begins the 2013-14 season this week with a match-up against the Black Hills State S.D. Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym. The game will count as a season game for Idaho State but is an exhibition game for BHSU.

LAST GAME: BENGALS TOP MARY 75-54 IN EXHIBITION GAME
Bengals scored in double figures to lead Idaho State women's basketball to a 75-54 comeback exhibition win over the University of Mary (S.D.) in Reed Gym Saturday morning. The Bengals struggled in the first half. The Marauders held a four point, 35-31, lead going into the break.

Idaho State started the second frame with back-to-back three pointers by Kara Jenkins and Becca Schrimpsher to give ISU their first lead (37-35) since the opening minutes. In all the Bengals outscored Mary 44-19 in the second half to secure the 21-point victory.

ISU PREPS FOR ANOTHER CHALLENGING NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
The 2013-14 non-conference line-up looks to be one of the more challenging seasons for Sobolewski and the Bengals with competitors like Illinois-Chicago, Oklahoma State, Drake and Iowa as well as just two official home games in the preseason and nearly two months without a game in Pocatello.

ABOUT BLACK HILLS STATE
The Yellow Jackets played one exhibition game against Colorado State on Nov. 1. The Rams won 72-49 with three players scoring in double figures. Cassidy Kotelman came off the bench to lead BHSU with 12 points, she was the only Yellow Jacket in double figures.

BHSU was picked to finish 6th in the 14-team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets received one first place vote.

Junior guard Chelsey Biegler averaged 18.1 points a game last season to be BHSU's leading scorer she was also named to the RMAC preseason All-conference team.  Senior forward Calli Bechtel averaged 5.4 rebounds per game last season to lead the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets are led by Mark Nore. Coach Nore has an overall record of 195-107, which makes him the all-time winningest coach in the history of Black Hills State University women's basketball.
