The Week That Was...
Idaho State dropped two close games last week, losing 67-58 at Northern Arizona and 53-52 at Sacramento State.
Tomas Sanchez had 18 points at Sacramento State and 10 points and four steals at NAU.
Andre Hatchett had 10 points and tied his career in rebounds with nine in the loss at Sacramento State. On Thursday, ISU lost to Eastern Washington, 87-73 despite a career-high 20 points from
Andre Hatchett.
Taking Care of the Ball
This year the the most turnovers Idaho State has committed in a game is 17 four different times, most recently in last Thursday's loss at Northern Arizona. If the Bengals take care of the ball on Saturday, vs. Portland State this will be the first time since at least the 1974-75 season that ISU has not committed 20 turnovers in a game. The five turnovers committed against Eastern Washington on Thursday was the fewest turnovers Idaho State has committed in a game since Nov. 29, 2006 when ISU committed four turnovers against Carroll College.
Best Defense in Bengal Basketball History
The Idaho State men's basketball team is turning in one of the best defensive performances in Bengal basketball history. This year's team is currently giving up only 64 points a game overall and 64.5 in conference games. This is the best mark since before the shot clock era as the previous best mark was 67.2 points overall by the 1986-87 team and the best mark for conference games only was 65.2 point done by the 2008-09 team and the 1986-87 team.
