POCATELLO, Idaho – Every one of the 1,139 fans in the Reed Gym knew Lindsey Reed was going to take the shot in the waning seconds of a 58-58 tie game. Then she didn't. Instead, she found teammate Rebecca Schrimpsher in the key where her eight-footer found pay-dirt to give Idaho State the 60-58 lead and the win over Weber State on Monday night.

Reed scored a game-high 22 points but it came down to Schrimpsher to make the game-winner. The decision came from Head Coach Seton Sobolewski with help from a guest on his bench just for Monday night.

"Credit Mari Tusch our guest assistant coach," Sobolewski said. "She said 'Give Becca a chance.' She grabbed the board and drew up a great play. We knew they were going to key in on Lindsey so she thought it would give Becca a chance to score."

The Bengals left 3.2 seconds for Weber State to score, but with only five team fouls the Bengals fouled on the inbound pass to cut the time to 2.3 seconds. Weber's Kalie Mathews received the next inbound pass and launched a 40-footer that hit the left side of the rim as the buzzer rang out and sailed harmlessly to the floor.

The Bengals struggled to score points early in the game and Weber was able to build a 19-9 lead on two free throws by Desiree Ramos with 7:07 to play.

The Bengals closed the half with a 10-5 run to cut the lead to 24-19.

Idaho State was able to tie the game at 41 on a 3-pointer by Sheryl Bitter with 10:00 to play in the game.

The Bengals and Wildcats then traded leads and again tied the game up at 48 on a Reed layup with 5:24 left in the game.

The Bengals built a 55-48 lead with 3:23 to play on a layup on Jessica Tingey but Weber State was not done with the fight. The Wildcats tied the game up at 58 on a put back layup with 30 seconds left in the game.

With the shot clock off, the Bengals held for the last shot and Sobolewski called a timeout to set up the play for Schrimpsher.

The win is the second straight for the Bengals and moves them to 3-3 in Big Sky play and 5-10 overall. With the loss the Wildcats remain winless (0-6) in conference play and 4-11 overall.

Along with the Reeds 22 points, 15 of which were in the second half, two other ISU players were in double-figures. Tingey scored 10 for the Bengals and Bitter had a career-high 11 points off of the bench.

"Sheryl had a great game,"Sobolewski said. "She did a great job off the bench. We struggled early but she came in and hit a couple buckets to help get us going."

Regina Okoye led WSU with 17 points and Ramos scored 11.

Kara Jenkins grabbed a game-high seven rebounds to go with her eight points.  Zakiy Shahid-Martin led WSU with four rebounds.

The Wildcats outrebounded the Bengals 38-36.

Both teams shot fairly well. ISU was 23-of-53 (.435) and Weber State was 24-of-60 (.400).

The Bengals next make the tough Montana-Montana State road trip. ISU will face UM Thursday at 7 p.m. at Dahlberg Arena and play Saturday at 2 p.m. and will be played in Shroyer Gym.
