POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State continues its stretch of three games in a week when it hosts Montana on Thursday, January 23 at 7 p.m. The Bengals then play host to Montana State on Saturday, January 25, at 7 p.m. Both games will be played in Reed Gym.

Montana leads the series 95-46 with the Griz winning the last seven meetings. The last Bengal win over Montana was a 67-65 victory in Pocatello on Dec. 31, 2009. The last time ISU won in Missoula was a 56-54 victory during the 2007-08 season.
Montana is 7-8 and 2-4 in Big Sky play. Kareem Jamar is scoring 19.8 points a game overall and 20 in Big Sky Conference play. Jamar is averaging 5.5 rebounds and shooting 50 percent from the field. Montana is averaging 72.3 points a game and 74 in league but giving up 74.7 in league and 72.7 overall. The Griz are shooting .484 percent from the field.
Series vs. Montana State
Montana State leads the series 104-82 with ISU winning two of the last three meetings. The Bengals beat Montana State 87-51 in Pocatello last year and lost 61-59 in overtime in Bozeman. The last Idaho State win at Montana State was an 87-86 victory on Feb. 2, 2012.
Scouting Montana State
Montana State is 9-8 and 4-2 in Big Sky Conference play with a Thursday game at Weber State. The Bobcats are scoring 72.4 points a game and shooting .463 percent from the field. Flavien Davis is scoring 11.8 points a game overall and 14.8 in league play.
Best Conference Starts in the Last 10 Years
The Bengals 3-3 start in Big Sky Conference play is the fifth time in 10 years they have been .500 or better and the first time since the 2008-09 season. The four other seasons ISU was .500 or better through the first six league games came in 2008-09 (4-2), 2007-08 (4-2), 2006-07 (5-1) and 2003-04 (3-3).
Solarin on the Boards
In the six Bengal wins Jeff Solarin has had four games of 10 rebounds or more and two games with seven rebounds. He had a career-high 13 vs. Southern Utah, 11 vs. Eastern Washington and 10 vs. Evergreen and Carroll College. His seven rebounds came against Portland State and USF. His three double-doubles this season have come in wins over Evergreen (23 points and 10 rebounds), Carroll (16 points and 10 rebounds) and Eastern Washington (14 points and 11 rebounds). He has six rebounds or more in the 13 of 14 games he has appeared in.
