ABOUT THE BENGALSIdaho State comes into this week's matchups tied for the best record in the Big Sky after sweeping previously unbeaten North Dakota last Saturday at Reed Gym. The Bengals battle Southern Utah Thursday night at 7:00 p.m at Reed Gym before welcoming Northern Arizona to Pocatello Saturday night at 7 p.m.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN UTAHThis will be the 8th meeting between the Bengals and the Thunderbirds. Idaho State leads the overall series 5-2. The Bengals have won five straight and have never lost to SUU in Pocatello (3-0).
Southern Utah has two players on their roster from East Idaho. Ann Clapier from Century High School and Katie Elgan from Highland High School.
SUU enters the match on a three-match losing streak after dropping both contests against Montana and Montana State in Cedar City last week.
They lead the Big Sky in opponent's hitting percentage (.143). Sariah Pelaez leads the conference in digs (5.45/set).
SCOUTING NORTHERN ARIZONAThis will be the 64th meeting between the Bengals and Lumberjacks. Idaho State leads the overall series 34-29. ISU is 20-9 against NAU in Pocatello. Northern Arizona won both matches last season.
ISU and NAU were co-favorites in the Preseason Big Sky poll.
NAU enters the weekend tied with ISU and North Dakota for the best record in the conference (5-1) They are on a three-match winning streak.
