Box Score SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The Idaho State women's basketball team battled tough with San Diego State before falling 68-53 to the Aztecs in the first game of the San Juan Shootout.
The Bengals led 32-30 at halftime after shooting 48.1% in the first 20 minutes.
"I thought we played really hard," Head Coach
Seton Sobolewski said. "I'm proud of our effort."
Apiphany Woods scored a career-high 18 points on 8-17 FG.
Anna Lee Policicchio added 11 points and five rebounds.
"You have to give SDSU credit, they did a great job on the offensive boards and making free throws," Sobolewski said. "Our young team has to become sharper in a few areas."
Grace Kenyon led ISU with eight rebounds and three steals while
Jasmine Lemon added five assists.
The Bengals will play the University of Houston Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. mountain time.
