The Bengals then went on an 8-2run to tie the game at 14. After trading baskets and leads ISU took a 20-19 lead on two free throws by Reed with 8:29 remaining in the half, ISU would not trail the rest of the game.

Three times after that point the Lumberjacks were able to cut the Bengals lead to two but every single time Reed answered with a 3-pointer on the next possession.

"They made runs but every time they cut the lead to two or three, Lindsey or Becca would make a big shot," Head Coach Seton Sobolewski said. "They were huge for us tonight. They both played like the veteran leaders they are."

Northern Arizona cut the lead to 68-65 with 1:15 remaining and got the ball back down three with 1:07 on the clock. The Lumberjacks missed three shots on the ensuing possession and got offensive rebounds each time.

The Bengals finally got the ball back on a turnover with 42 ticks on the clock and iced the game with four Reed free throws for the 72-65 win.

"We played well and won against an NAU team that has been playing very well and we beat them at home," Sobolewski said. "They won three of the last four and they didn't make it easy on us."

Idaho State was 25-51 (49 percent) from the field and 9-19 (47.4 percent) from long-distance, including 7-11 (63.6 percent) in the second half.

The Lumberjacks were 23-61 (37.7 percent) from the field but just 3-17 (17.6 percent) from the three-point line.

Reed and Schrimpsher were the only Bengals to score in double-figures with 23 points each, a career-high for Schrimpsher. Jenkins led ISU with 10 rebounds.

The Big Sky's leading scorer, Amanda Frost, scored a game-high 28 points to lead NAU and Raven Anderson scored a double-double with 23 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Bengals have won two of the last three and sit in a tie for fifth place in the conference standings with Sacramento State at 9-8.

"We have lost to some really good teams but we have beaten some really good teams," Sobolewski said. "I feel like we are in a good spot but we've got three tough games left on the schedule."

The Bengals and the Hornets meet Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. MST at the Hornet's Nest in Sacramento.
