Bengal Tennis Falls in Three Weekend Matches

Boise State 7, ISU Men 0 l Sacramento State 7, ISU Men 0 l Sacramento State 6, ISU Women 1

POCATELLO, Idaho
– The Idaho State men's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by Boise State Saturday and 7-0 by Sacramento State Sunday to drop to 1-7 (1-4 BSC). The Idaho State women lost to Sacramento State 6-1 to fall to 1-7 (1-3 BSC).
 
The Bengal men were swept by Boise State Saturday before traveling to Sacramento State where both teams faced the Hornets.
 
The ISU women were swept in the doubles point and every singles match except one, the No. 6 singles match, where Zamira Vasquez defeated Emily McColl 6-3, 6-4.
 
Bjorn Scheepbouwer and Krzystof Stempian defeated Tom Miller and Joaquin Marquez 6-5(7-2) to earn the lone doubles win for Idaho State. The Bengals were then swept in the singles point.
 
Jamey Swiggart battled hard at No. 1 but eventually lost to Marek Marksoo 6-0, 4-6, 10-5.
 
Idaho State travels to Las Vegas for its annual spring break trip where the men play four matches and the women play three. Both teams kickoff the action against Mesa Community College on Saturday.
