LAS VEGAS – The Idaho State men's tennis team split two matches on Monday. The Bengals beat SUU 6-1 in a non-conference match and lost 5-2 to Grand Canyon.

ISU lost the doubles point but
Jamey Swiggart and
Austin Miller defeated Ahmad Saleem and Felix Schueller 8-7(2) at No. 1.
In the singles competition Swiggart defeated Nicolas Moulin 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 and
Krzysztof Stempien defeated Saleem 6-2, 6-1.
The Lopes won the remaining four matches which set the final score at a 5-2.

Idaho State won the doubles point 2-0 when Stempien and
Bjorn Scheepbouwer defeated Alex Dial and Branden Olcott 8-5 at No. 2 and
Josh Goodwin and
Cody Miller defeated Ammon Story and Mitchell John 8-3 at No. 3.
In the singles competition, Swiggart defeated Troy Benson 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 and Stempien defeated Blair Robbins 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2.
Josh Goodwin defeated Story 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 and Scheepbouwer defeated Olcott 6-1, 6-0.
Cody Miller finished off the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over John at No. 6.
Idaho State is now 3-8 on the season.
The Bengals finish the spring break trip with a match against Seattle University Tuesday at 9 a.m.
