POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State men's tennis lost 5-0 to Montana State Saturday in a Big Sky Conference match at Reed Gym.
The Bobcats won the doubles point then won the first four singles matches before the match was called because of time.
Niklas Brandes and James Harry defeated
Jamey Swiggart and Austin miller 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 3 doubles Kenny Dodd and J. Martin Morrillas defeated
Josh Goodwin and
Cody Miller 8-5. The No. 2 match was suspended when the match was finished.
In singles Brandes defeated Swiggart 6-3, 6-7, 1-0 (10-8) at No. 1. Markus Schleuter defeated
Krzysztof Stempien 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2 and at No. 3 Morillas defeated
Austin Miller 6-2, 6-4.
In the No. 4 match James defeated Goodwin 6-3, 6-2. The No. 5 and No. 6 matches were called moments after they started when the match was decided.
Idaho State falls to 3-10 on the season. Montana State is now 8-3.
The Bengals next face Montana on Sunday April, 6 at 10 a.m. at the Reed Gym tennis courts.
