OGDEN, Utah – Idaho State men's tennis fell 6-1 to Big Sky regular season champion Weber State Wednesday afternoon in Ogden.
The Wildcat won the doubles point 2-1.
Krzysztof Stempien and
Bjorn Scheepbouwer defeated Todd Fought and Jakub Gewert 8-4 to win the lone doubles point for ISU.
At No. 2 Stempien defeated Fought 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) for the only Idaho State win.
Despite the 6-1 loss, five of the six doubles matches went three sets.
No. 1 Gewert defeated Jamey Swiggert 0-6, 6-4, 6-3. At No. 3 Oliver Good defeated
Daniel Loebel 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 and Caio Poitena defeated
Josh Goodwin 6-2, 0-6. 6-2 at No. 4. At No. 5 Landon Barlow defeated Scheepbouwer 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.
At No. 6 Sanjay Goswami defeated
Cody Miller 6-2, 6-1.
The Bengals are now 4-12 on the season and 2-7 in Big Sky play. The Bengals play their final match of the season Saturday against Portland State.
