Box Score
POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team lost 11-5 to Boise State on Tuesday afternoon at Miller Ranch Stadium in the final regular season home game. Idaho State is 30-17 and Boise State improved to 29-17.

The Bengals scored their five runs on nine hits and committed one error while Boise State scored its 11 runs on 13 hits.

Sarah Hayes led the Bengal offense by going two-for-three with one run scored. Kacie Burnett was one-for-four with one RBI. Hailey Breakwell, Maddy Hickman, Katee Wiley, Gabby Lopez, Micheala Taylor and Katelyn Marquez added hits for ISU.

"Hitting wise, I thought we at least hit a little better against this team," Idaho State coach Julie Wright. "When you are down six runs early it is a battle. In your mind as a hitter you often times try to do too much instead of trying to string it together. We were ok but we obviously didn't play very well.

Bailey Foster suffered the loss. She pitched 1.1 innings, allowed four hits and six runs. Jessica Tolmie pitched the final 5.2 innings and gave up nine hits, five runs, two walks while striking out three.

Boise State jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings. Idaho State scored two runs in the third inning thanks to an RBI double by Breakwell and a Bronco wild pitch that scored Burnett.

Boise State extended its lead to 7-2 after the top of the fourth inning. ISU added three runs in the bottom half of the inning but the Broncos scored four runs in the fifth to take the 11-5 lead.

Idaho State plays its final conference series May 2-3 at North Dakota. May 2 is a doubleheader that starts at 1 p.m. (MST) and the May 3 game begins at 12 p.m. (MST). If the Bengals win two games they will host the 2014 Big Sky Tournament May 8-10.
