POCATELLO, Idaho - Both Idaho State tennis teams fell in Big Sky action Sunday. The Bengal women lost 4-0 to Northern Arizona while the ISU men dropped a 5-2 decision to Montana.
Northern Arizona 4, Idaho State 0NAU swept the doubles point 2-0 when Sarah Spruch and Johanna Vang defeated
Wiebke Boeckmann and
Svenja Tegtmeier 8-2 at No. 2 and Emelia Box and Hailey Rochin defeated
Marian Tangarife and
Laura Theus 8-5.
At No. 3 singles, Jordan Denesik defeated Tangarife 6-1, 6-1 to give the Lumberjacks a 2-0 lead.
Vang defeated Tangarife 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 and Hailey Rochin defeated
Madelyn Weltzin 6-4, 6-4 to complete the 4-0 sweep.
The remaining matches were suspended after the match was decided.
The Bengals are 5-12 and 2-5 in Big Sky play.
ISU travels to Weber State on April, 18 for its next match.

Daniel Loebel 8-5 at No. 1. At No. 2, Mikolaj Caruk and Tomasz Soltyka defeated
Krzysztof Stempien and
Bjorn Scheepbouwer 8-2 and at No. 3 Andrew Warren and Eric Braun defeated
Josh Goodwin and
Cody Miller 8-3.
Montana took a 3-0 lead when Branzburg defeated Loebel 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 and Soltyka defeated Goodwin 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4.
Stempien defeated Warren 6-0, 6-3 to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Montana clinched the victory when Caruk defeated Swiggart 6-2, 6-3 to give the Griz a 4-1 lead.
Peter Mimnagh-Fleming defeated
Cody Miller 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6 to give UM a 5-1 lead.
Scheepbouwer defeated Vaughn 6-4, 3-6 1-0 (10-8) to end the match with a 5-2 final.
Idaho State is 3-11 overall and 1-6 in Big Sky action.
The Bengals play their final home match Friday, April 11, at 2 p.m. against Southern Utah.
