Game 2 Preview: Idaho State at Utah State

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State football team continues its stretch of playing teams in the state of Utah when it plays at Utah State on Saturday, September 6 at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on  930 CBS Sports Radio or Rock 102.5. Utah State was picked to finish second in the Mountain Division behind Boise State. In 2013 the Aggies finished 9-5 and won six of their final seven games. Utah State won the Mountain Division and beat No. 24 Northern Illinois in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego. Utah State returns 14 starters from the 2014 team.

Utah State leads the series 12-2. The Bengals and Aggies last played in 2010 where USU came away with a 38-17 win in Logan. ISU beat Utah State 27-24 in Logan on November 18, 2000 and 50-24 in Pocatello in 1981.

Bengals Against FBS Opponents
Idaho State is 0-21 against FBS schools since beating Utah State 27-24 at USU in 2000.  Since 2008, the FBS opponents Idaho State has faced are; Air Force, Nebraska, BYU, Washington State, Utah State, Georgia, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Boise State, Washington, Utah and Idaho.  ISU plays Utah and Utah State in 2014, Boise State and BYU in 2015 and Colorado in 2016.

Game Notes From the Season Opener vs. Utah
- Game captains were Justin Arias, Jim Bagley, Austin Graves and Keelan McCaffery.
- Xavier Finney's 34-yard run was a career-long and his 133 rushing yards the second-most in his career.
- Broc Malcom's first-quarter touchdown reception was the earliest the Bengals have scored a touchdown against an FBS team since Sept. 6, 2008 at Idaho.
- Aaron Prier's 28-yard reception was a career-best.
- KW Williams scored his first career touchdown.
- Tyler Kuder and Brandon Golden each had a career-high six tackles.
- The Bengals 179 rushing yards was the second most in a game since 2008.
- In his first career start, redshirt freshman Marion Jenkins led the team in tackles with eight.
- The following players saw their first action as an ISU Bengal: Mario Jenkins, Sage Burmeister, Tavonte Jackson, Kamino Ward, Khary Livingston-Coleman, Daniel Roundtree, Jakori Ford, Micah Breland and Jake Belnap.
