Bengals Fall to Utah State 4-2

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State scored three first half goals en route to a 4-2 victory over Idaho State Friday afternoon.
 
Jayne Robison started off the scoring with a goal in the 13th minute, and in the 17th minute Jessica Brooksby gave the Aggies a 2-0 lead. Utah State added to its lead with a goal by Lexie Morgan in the 33rd minute to close out the first half scoring.
 
Maria Sanchez got the Bengals on board with a drive down the right side and a shot over the hands of the goalkeeper in the 49th minute. The goal was her fourth of the season.
 
Utah State added another goal in the 78th minute.
 
Allyssa Kenney answered with a goal 49 seconds later when she emerged from a scrum on a corner kick.
 
Utah State tallied 23 shots to ISU's 13 and had 10 shots on goal to eight for Idaho State. Maria Dela Cruz tallied five saves in her first game of the season.
 
The Bengals continue their first road trip of the year with a game against Boise State Sunday at 12 p.m. at the Boas Tennis and Soccer Center.
