Box Score PDFPOCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Northern Colorado Friday evening at Jackson Stadium in its first match of a two-game road swing. The match was initially delayed an hour and ten minutes due to inclement weather.
In the first half, ISU matched UNC's production as both teams recorded seven shots. Neither team was able to break free for a score; the Bengals headed into halftime with a 0-0 tie.
In the second half, UNC surged ahead after scoring two goals in less than four minutes to break the 0-0 tie. The Bengals recorded two additional shots in the remaining 25 minutes but was unable to convert for a goal.
UNC scored its third and final goal in the 76th minute.
"We played a tremendous first half," Head Coach
Allison Gibson said. "We failed to execute the game plan in the second half and paid dearly for it."
Idaho State heads to Grand Forks, N.D. for its second and final match of this weekend's road swing against North Dakota at 12 p.m. at Bronson Field.
