LAST MATCH: ISU BATTLES NAU; FALLS 2-1 IN FLAGSTAFF
The Idaho State soccer team fell to Northern Arizona 2-1 in Flagstaff, Ariz. Friday evening in its first game of this weekend's two-game road trip.

In the first half, the Bengals (1-15-1, 0-8-0 BSC) were outshot 15-3 by Northern Arizona (8-8-1, 3-4-1 BSC), including 8-3 on goal. ISU fell behind 2-0 early following two goals from NAU senior forward Haley Wingender in the 24th and 28th minutes. Although the Bengals recorded only three shots in the first, all were on goal, and in the 35th minute senior defender Whitney Peterson connected on a pass from freshman Nikolina Musto for her first goal of the season. Both teams were scoreless for the remaining 10 minutes and the Bengals headed into halftime facing a one-goal deficit.

Following the break, the Bengals started off hot, nearly scoring in the 48th minute when senior midfielder Lauren Bermudez rebounded a shot off the crossbar and knocked it passed Lumberjack goalkeeper Natalie Gilbertson. However, Bermudez was ruled offsides and the goal was retracted.

Despite the short setback, ISU continued to battle NAU in the second, limiting the 'Jacks to eight shots for the half and recording six shots of its own, three of which were on goal. However, the Bengals were unable to capitalize and fell to Northern Arizona 2-1.
