POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State soccer team lost 3-0 to Southern Utah on Friday afternoon at Davis Field. SUU scored two goals in the first 25 minutes and added a goal in the 79
th minute to earn the victory.
Idaho State dropped to 7-11 and 4-4 in Big Sky play while SUU improved 3-10-2 overall and 2-5-1 in league.
The Bengals were outshot 22-19 for the game, with SUU firing 10 shots in the first half and 12 in the final stanza. ISU had 13 first half shots and only six in the second half.
"Today was not our best day of soccer, obviously," Idaho State coach
Allison Gibson said. "We played with a lot of nerves and let SUU gain control early which forced us to chase the game. We are very young and fortunately we have the ability to have a short memory and we are already looking forward to Sunday's match.
Nikolina Musto took five shots while
Michaela Didericksen had four. ISU goalie
Shawna Hennings had seven saves.
Idaho State plays its final home game Sunday at 1 p.m. vs. NAU. It will be the final home game for
Ka'imi Morreira and
Kortney McBride. They will be honored prior to the start of the match.
