POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State soccer team enters the final weekend of regular-season play with a single game at Idaho Friday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. MST at Guy Wicks Field in Moscow, Idaho. The Bengals, who were picked to finish last in the Big Sky this season, currently sit alone in seventh place with a chance to advance to the Big Sky Conference Tournament.

In order to advance to post-season play, the Bengals must win at league-leading Idaho on Friday and hope for a Northern Colorado loss or tie. An Idaho State win and a Portland State tie may also grant the Bengals a tournament berth, depending on the conference standings following Friday's play.

SCOUTING IDAHO

Idaho clinched a share of the Big Sky Conference regular-season title last week with a 4-0 win over Southern Utah on Oct. 23 in Moscow. Currently, the Vandals carry a 9-4-4 overall record with a 6-1-2 mark in conference play. Idaho will claim the outright title if both Eastern Washington and Sacramento State either loss or tie this week.

The Vandals have taken 317 shots on the year with 36 goals for a 2.12 goals per game average. With 139 shots on goal, Idaho carries a .438 shot on goal percentage. Currently, the Vandals rank second in shots per game behind ISU, yet average nearly a goal more per game than the Bengals at 2.12.

13 Vandals have found the back of the net this season led by Emma Eddy with eight goals which ranks tied for third in the Big Sky. Goalkeeper Torell Stewart has been solid for the Vandals recording four shutouts with a .791 save percentage and a 1.06 goals against average.

The Vandals are led by Head Coach Derek Pittman who is in his third season at the helm of the program.
