Women's Basketball Faces James Madison, Davidson in 2016 Women's Cancun Challenge

POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State women's basketball team heads south this week for the 2016 Women's Cancun Challenge, hosted by the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya just south of Cancun, Mexico. This is the second time the Bengals have taken part in the annual tournament as they participated during the 2011-2012 season.

Idaho State faces James Madison Nov. 24 at 4:30 p.m. MST and Davidson Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. MST as part of the Riviera Division. This will be the first time in program history that ISU has faced either opponent.

SCOUTING JAMES MADISON

The Dukes are 2-2 on the season with losses to two top-25 teams in No. 13/14 Tennessee (81-69) and No. 12/12 Florida State (84-64). According to CollegeInsider.com, JMU currently ranks No. 5 in the nation among mid-major programs.

James Madison averages 69.5 points and 43.8 rebounds per game while shooting 38.2 percent. Precious Hall leads the Dukes at 26.7 points per game, good for seventh nationally.

The Dukes are led by Head Coach Sean O'Regan who is in his first year as head coach.

SCOUTING DAVIDSON

The Wildcats are in search of their first win of the season after starting 0-4 with losses at Michigan State, at Western Michigan, against UCF and against Radford.

Currently, Davidson averages 43.8 points per game and 37.5 rebounds per game while shooting 28.3 percent from the field. Three players average eight or more points for the Wildcats, led by Kianna Speight with 11.5. Mackenzie Latt leads the rebounding effort with 6.5 per contest.

Davidson is led by Head Coach Michele Savage who is in her seventh year at the helm of the program.
