Bengals Host Idaho Saturday in Reed Gym

The 1977 Elite 8 team will be recognized at a reception at 6 p.m. and at halftime.

POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State hosts the University of Idaho on Saturday, January 14 at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym. Jerry Miller and Brad Bugger will call the action live on 102.5 KMGI and fans can follow the action online at isubengals.com. Following Saturday's game, Idaho State plays at Northern Colorado on January 19 and North Dakota on Jan. 21.

Scouting Idaho
Idaho is 6-9 and 1-3 in Big Sky play. The Vandals are led by Victor Sanders 18.8 points a game and Brayon Blake's 10.3 points and 7.1 rebounds. Idaho is scoring 69.3 points a game and giving up 71.2. The Vandals shoot .417 percent from the field, .334 percent from the three-point line and .687 percent from the free throw line. Idaho averages 36.8 rebounds, 12.7 assists, 13.5 turnovers, 5.6 steals and two blocks a game. In conference play Sanders is averaging 23 points a game and Idaho is scoring 67.

Series vs. Idaho
Idaho leads the series 58-45. Idaho won the only meeting of the year last season in Moscow, 82-68. The teams split the series during the 2014-15 year, winning 67-65 in Pocatello and losing 77-54 at Idaho.

Remaining Home Schedule Moved to Reed Gym
The Bengals  remaining home games will now be played in Reed Gym. The Feb. 2 and Feb. 4 games vs. NAU and SUU were scheduled to be played in Holt Arena due to a scheduling conflict in Reed Gym but on Wednesday evening of this week the event agreed to move to Holt Arena, allowing the Bengals to officially make Reed Gym their home for the remainder of the season. Fans with tickets for those games will be sent reserved tickets in the mail by the end of January.

40 Year Reunion of 1977 Elite 8 Team
On Saturday, January 14 vs. Idaho, the 1977 team that beat UCLA and advanced to the Elite 8 will honored at halftime as part of the 40-year anniversary. The ISU Alumni association will put on a reception prior to the start of the game at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Campus Recreation Center in Reed Gym. All fans with a ticket to the game can attend the reception and the team will be honored at halftime.

Notes from Eastern Washington
- 85 points scored was a season-high but the 92 points allowed was also a season-high.
- Robert Jones III played a season-high 34 minutes.
- 32 made field goals was a season-high.
- 5 3-pointers by Brandon Boyd was the most by a Bengal this year.
- 9 field goals made by Brandon Boyd tied for the most by a Bengal this year. It was the second-time this year he has made nine field goals.
- ISU is 0-13 when opponents shoot 40 percent or greater.
- This was only the third loss in the Bill Evans era when scoring 80 points or more in a game. ISU is now 19-3 when scoring 80 points or more under Evans.

Weber State Game Rescheduled for January 25
Idaho State and Weber State will make up its suspended game on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym. The game will resume with 15:02 left in the first half with ISU trailing 13-2. All tickets to the previously scheduled contest on Jan. 7 will be honored. The game will be general admission seating.
