PROVO, Utah – The Idaho State men's tennis team fell 6-1 to BYU Saturday afternoon at the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts. BYU claimed the doubles point early and bested the Bengals in singles play to claim the match win.
In doubles play,
Bjorn Scheepbouwer and
Keegan Sullivan led BYU's Keaton Cullimore and Aidan Carrazedo 6-5, but the match went unfinished as BYU defeated ISU at both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to earn the doubles point to take the early lead. In singles play, Scheepbouwer again earned the win, this time at the No. 5 singles position in a three-set win over BYU's Garret Vincent, 6-4, 6-7, 10-3.
The Bengals continue play on the road next Saturday, Jan. 21 at Utah. The match is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.
