POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State women's basketball team continues Big Sky play at home this Saturday, Jan. 21 as they welcome North Dakota to the ICCU Court at Reed Gym. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.

SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA

North Dakota is the second-hottest team in the conference right now with its only loss coming against Montana State on Jan. 12. The Fighting Hawks are 6-1 in conference play with an 11-7 overall record and have won nine-straight league road games.

UND averages 72.7 points per game and 43.1 rebounds per game, both of which rank second in the conference. Four players averaged double-figures of the Fighting Hawks, led by senior guard Makailah Dyer at an even 15.0 points per game (good for eighth in the conference). Lexi Klabo averages 12.3, Leah Szabla 11.1 and Samantha Roscoe 10.1. Klabo averages 8.5 rebounds per contest to lead the squad, also good for second in the conference.

The Fighting Hawks are led by Head Coach Travis Brewster who is in his fourth season at the helm of the program.

SERIES REVIEW

North Dakota leads the overall series 6-3, and the Fighting Hawks have won three of the last five meetings. Of UND's six wins over Idaho State, five have been by five points or less. Last season, the Fighting Hawks won both of the regular-season conference games by three points. Idaho State defeated UND 69-54 in the Big Sky semifinals on March 11, 2016 to advance to the championship game.

BENGAL BITES
  • January has been an inconsistent month for the Bengals. Since dropping two straight games to open the month at Weber State and at Eastern Washington, ISU rallied to defeat Idaho 67-60 in Moscow, Idaho for its first win at the Cowan Spectrum since 1983. ISU returned home to host league-leading Northern Colorado Jan. 19, and the Bears picked apart Idaho State as they erupted for 77 points and shot 50 percent for the contest including 60 percent from three.
  • ISU has been without leading scorer and rebounder Grace Kenyon for the last two contests, but multiple players have stepped up in her absence. Lindsay Brown and Saylair Grandon have each scored in double figures both games, while freshman Bianca Thacker reached double-figure rebounds at Idaho and finished with a season-high 15 points against Northern Colorado.
