POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State women's basketball team returns to play this Saturday, Jan. 28 against Weber State at the ICCU Court at Reed Gym. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.

SCOUTING WEBER STATE

Since defeating Idaho State 50-43 on Jan. 7, the Wildcats have been on a four-game skid and sit in ninth place with a 2-5 conference record. Overall this season, Weber State carries an 8-10 record with a 2-4 mark on the road.

As a squad, WSU averages 69.6 points and 37.1 rebounds per contest while shooting .388 percent from the floor. Two players average double figures for the Wildcats, led by sophomore guard Emily Drake at 15.3 points per game, good for seventh in the conference. Deeshyra Thomas is close behind at 14.0 points per game which ranks 14th in the Big Sky.

As a team, WSU ranks ninth in the conference in rebounding at 37.1 per game. Four players average four or more boards per contest, led by Jocelyn Adams at 5.7 per contest, good for 18th in the conference.

Weber State is led by Head Coach Bethann Ord who is in her sixth season with the program.

SERIES REVIEW

Weber State leads the all-time series 46-36, but Idaho State has claimed victories in six of the last 10 meetings. The Wildcats defeated ISU 50-43 in their last meeting Jan. 7, 2017. After building a 28-21 halftime lead, the Bengals went ice cold in the second half, shooting just 19 percent for 15 second-half points.

  • Idaho State looks to get back on the winning track against Weber State after having gone 1-4 so far in the month of January.
  • Currently the Bengals are averaging 59.1 points per game which ranks 11th in the conference, yet ISU ranks second in scoring defense, limiting its opponents to 61.9 points per game.
  • Two players average double figures for the Bengals: Grace Kenyon at 11.8 points and Saylair Grandon at 10.8 points per contest. Kenyon also leads the rebounding effort at 7.3 boards per game, good for seventh in the conference.
