Bengals Begin Four Game Home Stand Friday

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team begins a four-game home stand on Friday, December 1 with a 7 p.m. contest vs. Bethesda at ICCU Court in Holt Arena. Jerry Miller and Brad Bugger will call the action live on 102.5 KMGI. To follow the game online with live stats, video and audio fans can log onto isubengals.com. Following Friday's game ISU hosts CSUN Dec. 6, Northwest Nazarene Dec. 9 and Youngstown State on Dec. 18.

Scouting Bethesda
Bethesda is 3-6 and played Montana State on Wednesday, November 29. The Flames beat UC Merced 65-57, Portland Bible 71-57 and New Hope Christian 89-69. Bethesda averages 66 points a game and gives up 80.5 points. The Flames average 37.6 rebounds game and shoot 60.4 percent from the free throw line. Ammar Rehman leads the team in scoring at 15.3 points a game and Michael Morrissey is scoring 11.

Series vs. Bethesda
This is the first meeting between the two schools.

Stutzman Plays
Idaho State's Jared Stutzman received word the morning of Nov. 22 that he would he immediately be eligible to play this season. He was not on the trip to San Jose but once he received word he was good to play he boarded a plan that morning and landed late afternoon where he played and scored 12 points in 15 minutes off the bench in the loss at San Jose State. In the following game against Seattle he earned his first start of the season.

- Geno Luzcando's four steals was a season-high.
- Novak Topalovic's nine rebounds was a season-high.
- Balint Mocsan's three steals was a season-high.
- Gary Chivichyan's 10 points was a season-high.
- Kyle Ingram's seven points was a season-high.

Mocsan In Starting Lineup
Since being inserted into the starting lineup the second game of the season, Balint Mocsan is scoring 13.5 points a game while shooting 58 percent from the field and 47.6 percent from the three-point line (10-21). He is shooting 80 percent from the free throw line during this stretch (4-5) and playing 25 minutes a game.

A Look Back
Idaho State dropped to 0-5 after a 73-67 loss at Seattle on Nov. 27.  The Bengals led for the first 30 minutes but a late run pushed Seattle to the victory. Balint Mocsan led ISU with 18 points. Gary Chivichyan and Jared Stutzman each had 10 points. The Bengals led by as many as 10 points and led 37-28 at halftime before being out scored 45-30 in the second half.

Welcome To Bengal Basketball
Since making his debut as a Bengal against San Jose State, Jared Stutzman has led a group of newcomers in contributing on the floor. Stutzman is averaging 11 points a game in 21 minutes of play in his two games. Jacob McCord is scoring 6.8 points and playing 15 minutes a game. Blake Truman is averaging 2.6 points and averaging 2.6 rebounds. Lyle Sutton has scored six points this year and Sam Dowd has added nine points.

74.3 percent of this year's scoring comes from Bengals who played on last year's team.

Returning Scorers
While Idaho State loses Ethan Telfair's 17.5 points per game averages, the Bengals still return 61.5 percent of its scoring from last season. The returning leading scorers are Brandon Boyd (12.4), Geno Luzcando (10.6), Novak Topalovic (10.2) and Balint Mocsan (5.4).
