POCATELLO, Idaho-Â The Idaho State men's basketball team pulled out a 73-57 victory over Northwest Nazarene Saturday night in Holt Arena.
The Bengals shot 45.3 percent from the field. Jared Stutzman led ISU with 17 points and was one of four players in double figures. Â
Novak Topalovic had 13 points and 10 rebounds in 27 minutes of play.
Kyle Ingram had 10 points and 10 rebounds while playing a season-high 32 minutes. Balint Mocsan added 10 points in 31 minutes of play.
ISU led for all but two minutes of the game. Idaho State shot 72 percent from the foul line (21-29). Topalovic was 7-8 and
Brandon Boyd was 5-6. The Bengals out rebounded Northwest Nazarene, 51-27.
ISU held Northwest Nazarene to 26.5 percent shooting and forced 14 turnovers. The Bengals did commit 24 turnovers on only eight assists.
Other than an early 3-0 and 3-2 lead by Northwest Nazarene, the Bengals led the entire way. Idaho State led 13-7 with 15:50 to play in the first half after a basket by Ingram. Northwest Nazarene hung around in the first 20 minutes, cutting the Bengal lead to 20-19 with 8:21 to play in period.
Idaho State led by as many as eight points in the final three minutes of the first half and led 39-32 at halftime. ISU shot 53.6 percent in the first period.
Idaho State opened the second half on a 10-0 run to take a 49-32 lead with 16:52 left in the game. ISU maintained a double digit lead the rest of the way as Northwest Nazarene got no closer than 11 points.
Idaho State concludes its four-game home stand on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. vs. Youngstown State at ICCU Court in Holt Arena.
