Men's Basketball Hosts NAU Thursday and SUU Saturday in Reed Gym

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team returns home for two games in Reed Gym vs. NAU on Thursday, Feb. 2 and Southern Utah, Saturday, Feb. 4. Both games tip at 7 p.m. with Jerry Miller and Brad Bugger calling the action on 102.5 KMGI. To follow the contests online fans can log onto isubengals.com for live video, audio and stats.

Scouting NAU
NAU is 6-16 and 3-6 in Big Sky Conference play. NAU scores 67.7 points a game and shoots .387 percent from the field, .318 percent from the three-point line and .694 percent from the free throw line. The Lumberjacks average 38 rebounds, 13.5 assists, 14.4 turnovers and 4.2 steals a game. Mike Green leads NAU in scoring at 12.4 points a game. Jordyn Martin is scoring 11.8 points and averaging 8.4 rebounds. In conference play Green is averaging 14.9 points and Martin is netting 13.1 points and 8.9 rebounds. Marcus Deberry is scoring 10.7 points a game in league play. NAU is shooting .412 percent in Big Sky play and averaging 67.7 points a game.

Series vs. NAU
Idaho State leads the series 52-46. The Bengals have won the last two games in Pocatello, winning 88-66 last year and 80-66 in on Feb. 12, 2015. NAU beat ISU 81-68 in Flagstaff last season. Prior to the Feb. 12 win in Pocatello, Northern Arizona had won five straight.

Series vs. SUU
Southern Utah leads the series 15-11. The Bengals swept the series last year, winning 87-68 in Pocatello and 89-71 in Cedar City. Idaho State has won four the last six meetings. SUU swept the series during the 2014-15 season, winning 71-67 in Pocatello and Cedar City.
