POCATELLO, Idaho- A late rally felt just short as the Idaho State men's basketball team dropped an 87-81 contest to Northern Colorado on Saturday night in Reed Gym. The Bengals trailed 77-65 with 5:38 left in the game. ISU cut the Bears lead to four at two different times in the final 1:13 but Northern Colorado sealed the victory by making six of eight free throws in the final 41 seconds.

"We need to play with more urgency from start to finish," Idaho State coach Bill Evans said. "Our guys really tried hard at the end."

"I am just trying to play within the system and do what the coaches tell me to do," Jones said. "I am comfortable in whatever, whether it sharing the ball or creating for others."

Brandon Boyd had 15 points and three steals.

The Bengals shot 48.2 percent from the field and made eight 3-pointers on 17 attempts. ISU was 19-27 from the free throw line but did miss six in the final 4:20 of the game.

Trailing 77-65 with 5:38 to play, ISU went on a 9-2 run to cut the Bears lead 79-74 after a free throw by Boyd.
