POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State women's basketball team faces Eastern Washington Saturday, Feb. 25 in its final home game of the season. The Bengals and Eagles are fighting for fourth place in the Big Sky and a first-round bye in the conference tournament as both share a 10-5 conference record.
SCOUTING EASTERN WASHINGTON
LAST TIME OUT: The Bengals fell 58-41 at Eastern Jan. 12 and struggled to get any sort of offensive rhythm as they committed a season-high 26 turnovers that led to 24 Eastern Washington points. ISU limited Delaney Hodgins, the Big Sky scoring leader, to just seven points, but the Bengals turnovers and inability to score opened the door for the Eagles win. Idaho State shot 29.3 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent from the charity stripe.
Eastern carries a 15-11 overall record with a 10-5 mark in conference play. The Eagles average 67.4 points per game and 36.4 rebounds per game while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor and 32.5 percent from long range. EWU is led by Delaney Hodgins who averages a league-best 17.6 points per game. Tisha Phillips and Ashli Payne also average double figures at 14.1 and 11.8 respectively. Payne leads the rebounding effort at an even 7.0 per game.
Eastern Washington is led by Head Coach Wendy Schuller who is in her 16th season.
