LARAMIE, Wyo. –
The Idaho State soccer team fell at Wyoming 3-0 Thursday afternoon at the Madrid Sports Complex in Laramie, Wyo.

Idaho State (1-6-0) took just nine shots in the contest, less than half the shots the Bengals have averaged in the last two games, but ISU was much more efficient in its shot selection, landing five of its nine shots on goal.

In the first half, neither team took a shot for the first five minutes, but Wyoming's (4-3-1) Tristan Tyrrell was able to connect in the sixth minute with a shot on goal. ISU's senior goalkeeper Shawna Hennings was there for the save, and just 30 seconds later ISU countered as sophomore forward Michaela Didericksen fired a shot on goal. Wyoming's keeper Georgia Rowntree made the save, and this back and forth play continued for much of the first half.

However, in the 38th minute, the Cowgirls capitalized on a loose ball in the box as Wyoming's Alyssa Murry connected for the game-winner. ISU was unable to counter and the Bengals faced a 1-0 deficit at half.

Wyoming quickly added to its goal count in the second half, scoring less than five minutes in for the 2-0 lead. Idaho State fired off four more shots in the second but was unable to capitalize. Wyoming scored once more in the 73rd minute to seal the 3-0 win.

Idaho State continues play on the road Sunday, Sept. 17 at Oregon. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. MST.
