POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State plays its second straight Thursday night game. This week the Bengals kickoff on Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. at Utah State.

About Utah State
Utah State is 0-1 and coming off a 59-10 loss at No. 9 Wisconsin last week. The Aggies return 14 starters coming into the 2017 season. Last year they finished the year 3-9. Quarterback Kent Myers returns as the starter. Last year he threw for 2,389 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He had 219 passing yards and three interceptions in the loss at Wisconsin. Suli Tamaivena and Dallin Leavitt led the defense against Wisconsin with seven tackles.
Series vs. Utah State
Utah State leads the series 11-2. The last time the two teams met, the Aggies won 40-20 in Logan in 2014. USU beat ISU 38-17 in 2010. Prior to that the teams met three straight years from 2000-2002. In 2002, the Bengals lost 38-33 and in 2001 ISU lost 28-27. The Bengals pulled out a 27-24 win in 2000. This is the last time Idaho State as beaten an FBS opponent.
Bengals Against FBS Teams
Idaho State is 0-26 against FBS schools since beating Utah State 27-24 at USU in 2000.
Since 2008, the FBS opponents Idaho State has faced are; Air Force, Nebraska, BYU, Oregon State, Washington State, Utah State, Georgia, UNLV, Colorado, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Boise State, Washington, Utah and Idaho. ISU plays at Nevada next week.

Freshman and Sophomores Make Immediate Impact
In the season opener vs. Western Oregon the freshman and sophomores accounted for 399 of the teams 431 yards of total offense. Sophomore running back
Ty Flanagan had 100 yards rushing and one touchdown and he caught two passes for three yards. Redshirt freshman
Nehamiah McFarlin had 34 yards rushing and 13 yards receiving. Sophomore
Michael Dean caught four passes for 65 yards and one touchdown and carried the ball one time for eight yards. Redshirt freshman
