Box Score SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Idaho State men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at the University of Utah Sunday evening at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City.
Idaho State (0-2) battled Utah (4-0) in doubles play before losing the doubles point.
Francis Filipovich and
David Felix fell to Utah's Randy Cory and Dan Little 6-4 to open doubles play.
William Edin and
Adam Hornby battled to keep the doubles-point within reach, but the Utes' David Micevski and Azat Hankuliyev earned the 7-5 win to take the doubles point.
"We played doubles at an extremely high level," Head Coach
Mark Rodel said. "Overall we saw improvements since our opening match, and we are moving in the right direction."
In singles play, Idaho State fell in two sets at the No. 1 through No. 6 singles positions.
Idaho State is back in play for its home-opener against Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. at the tennis courts at Reed Gym.
