POCATELLO, Idaho -- Idaho State (2-10, 1-4 BSC) kept Montana (2-6-4, 1-1-2 BSC) off the board for 80 minutes at Davis Field, but was unable to match a late goal in a 1-0 loss Friday afternoon. 
Makena Bambei led all players with seven shots in the game and had two shots on goal. 
Tristen Spooner also had two shots on goal with four shots total. 
Brooke Kortekaas, 
Christina Krieger and 
Kenya Sherman all shot twice with Kortekaas and Sherman putting one on goal each. 
Anna Suzuki, 
Esmeralda Nunez and 
Meaghan Bare combined for three shots. 
Laule'a Akana-Phillips played keeper for ISU and allowed one goal among three saves. 
Idaho State generated more offense than Montana with the advantage in shots (20-17) and shots on goal (6-4). The Grizzlies held a slight edge in corner kicks with five opportunities compared to four for the Bengals. 
Both goalies posted clean sheets in the first half as the back lines limited the offensive output. Idaho State tallied nine shots to Montana's six and was able to gather the only three shots on goal. Montana was hampered by an aggressive attack as the team collected eight offside calls in the first 45 minutes. 
Makena Bambei had the closest attempt in the first with a shot that rung the crossbar from the top of the 18-yard box.
The game remained at a stalemate 35 minutes into the second half. In the 81st minute, Montana was awarded a throw in and Alexa Coyle backed down her defender from just inside the 18-yard box before turning and launching an arcing shot over the head of Akana-Phillips. 
The Bengals shot twice in the 86th minute, but both were blocked as Montana completed the shutout 1-0. 
The Bengals return to Davis Field Sunday at 1 p.m. to play the Northern Colorado Bears.
