POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 83-76 to Pacific (3-1) of the West Coast Conference on Thursday evening in Reed Gym.
Brandon Boyd scored a game-high 28 points. He had four assists and was 9-19 from field.
Jared Stutzman had 12 points.
Kelvin Jones had 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks and
Balint Mocsan had 10 points.
Idaho State (1-2) shot 42.6 percent from the field but was held to 26.9 percent shooting in the second half after shooting 57.1 percent in the first 20 minutes.
The Bengals were out rebounded 41-26, was 11-33 from the three-point line and 19-23 from the foul line.
Idaho State led 50-40 three minutes into the second half but the Tigers tied the game at 50 with 14:49 left in the game and took the lead for good at 60-59 with 9:35 to play.
Idaho State would tie it at 73 with 3:54 to play following a Boyd layup. The Tigers then outscored ISU 10-3 over the final minutes to earn the seven point win.
Idaho State led for 25 minutes of the game and its biggest lead was 50-39 two minutes into the second half.
After Pacific scored the opening basket of the game, the Bengals led the entire first half. Boyd scored 15 of his 28 points in the first half and Idaho State was 16-28 from the field. Â
Idaho State returns to the court on Nov. 19 to host Bethesda at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym.
