POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State men's tennis has signed two more players for the spring 2019 season, bringing its 2018 signing class to four members. Patrik Trhac and Filippo La Cava will join Idaho State in January after committing to the Bengals this week.

Trhac is following the footsteps of his older brother,
Peter Trhac, and transferring from Palomar College. After graduating from Del Norte High School in 2017, Trhac played one year at Palomar. He was a 2018 Pacific Coast Conference finalist in both singles and doubles.
In high school, he won the singles and doubles California Interscholastic Federation Championships. He was also a 2014 Division II CIF Champion. The 6-6 sophomore will study exercise science after enrolling for the spring 2019 semester.
"I am expecting big things from Patrik," Rodel said. "I recognized pure athletic ability along with a natural feel for the game. He has the potential to become one of the best players in the league as long as he can take a long-term approach to development. Patrik brings confidence along with high expectations for himself and the team."
La Cava is wrapping up school at Kings College in Auckland, NZ where he is the current school senior champion. In addition, he has represented Auckland in the national team event and won it three-consecutive years. He was also a semifinalist in the National Secondary Schools Championships. The 5-9 student-athlete plans on majoring in business management at Idaho State University.
"I feel fortunate that we were able to sign Filippo for January," Rodel said. "He will be a difference maker for our team by adding some needed depth. Filippo is a well-rounded, all-court player with great movement, court awareness and exceptional technique. Filippo is goal oriented and above all excited to be a Bengal."
