IRVINE, Calif. – The Idaho State women's tennis team fell 6-1 to UC Irvine at the Anteater Tennis Stadium in Irvine, Calif.
In doubles play, Idaho State (1-3) picked up a win at No. 1 doubles as
Louise-Mare Botes and
Huibre-Mare Botes defeated Danielle Garrido and Stephanie Hazell 6-3, but UC Irvine (2-4) defeated Idaho State at both the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions to earn the doubles point.
In singles play, Idaho State's
Louise-Mare Botes was the lone Bengal to pick up a win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles. However, both
Hristina Cvetkovic and
Huibre-Mare Botes fell in three-set battled. Cvetkovic fell 6-3, 7-5, 10-8 at No. 1 singles while
Huibre-Mare Botes fell 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
The Bengals continue play at UC San Diego Sunday afternoon. The match is set to begin at 10 a.m. MST.
