Box Score LEWISTON, Idaho – The Idaho State women's tennis team fell to Idaho 6-1 in Lewiston, Idaho Tuesday afternoon. The Bengals drop to 5-9 on the season with a 3-2 mark in Big Sky play.
"The girls really battled today," Head Coach
Gretchen Maloney said. "Idaho's the top of the conference, and we were in most matches. They were a little bit more aggressive on big points."
Idaho (5-6, 4-1 BSC) swept the doubles point with 6-0 wins at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The Vandals claimed wins at the Nos. 1-4 singles positions, but the Bengals picked up a three-set win at the No. 5 single position when
Megan Poe bested Marta Magalhaes 4-6, 7-5, 10-3. Idaho claimed the 6-4, 6-3 win at the No. 6 single position to pick up the 6-1 win.
Idaho State continues play Wednesday, March 21 against Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. MST.
