"We were down and then had the tying run," Idaho State coach
Candi Letts said. "We challenged. We came back and we didn't die. We just didn't take advantage of some opportunities in the extra innings. It was a really good ball game."
The Hornets scored a run in the bottom of the 12

Ashlyn Ames pitched all 12 innings, allowing 14 hits, walking only two and striking out nine. The Bengals were held to four hits by Celina Matthias, who also struck out 13 and walked only two.

ISU had the winning run at third in the seventh inning before Matthias got her team out of the inning.
Idaho State had the winning runs on base in the 11

"They competed and knew every bat was important," Letts said. "We just have to swing the bats to win."
