POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State women's tennis team got back on the winning track with a 6-1 win over visiting Montana State Sunday afternoon at the Reed Gym Tennis Courts. The Bengals took the doubles point early and won five-of-six singles matches to seal the win.
In doubles play, Montana State (5-13, 2-6 BSC) picked up a win at No. 1 doubles, defeating ISU's
Hristina Cvetkovic and
Megan Poe 6-2. The Bengals picked up the next win as
Huibre-Mare Botes and
Louise-Mare Botes defeated MSU's Angelina Philippova and Annie Walker 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Idaho State (8-10, 5-3 BSC) sealed the doubles point at No. 3 doubles as
Melissa Coburn and
Madison Fenske defeated the Bobcats' Enni Zander and Sarah Cheverie 6-3.
In singles play, Montana State picked up a win at No. 2 singles, but the Bengals took wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 to seal the 6-1 win.
Idaho State continues play Sunday, April 15 against Sacramento State at 12 p.m. at the Reed Gym Tennis Courts.
