Didericksen Scores in Close Overtime Loss

CEDAR CITY, Utah -
The Idaho State soccer team fell 2-1 to Southern Utah in overtime on Oct. 25 in Cedar City, Utah.

Southern Utah took a 1-0 lead with a goal at 24:30. Senior Michaela Didericksen answered back with a goal at 38:47 assisted by junior Morgan Hall. Didericksen is now the team's leading scorer with four on the season.

The Bengals ended the first half with five shots and three on goal against the Thunderbirds' one shot on goal. Didericksen had three shots, two on goal, with one goal and senior Makena Bambei had two shots with one on goal.

A scoreless second half brought the Bengals' into their seventh overtime match of the season. Idaho State put up six shots in the second with one on goal from Bambei.

The Thunderbirds won 2-1 after a goal at 97 minutes in overtime.

Idaho State out-shot Southern Utah 11-9 and senior goalkeeper Katie Hogarth recorded five saves against SUU's three.

Bambei's four shots in the game puts her at only four away from becoming ISU's All-Time career shot leader.

Idaho State plays its final conference match on Sunday, Oct. 27, against Northern Arizona at 1 p.m. (MST) in Flagstaff, Ariz. The match will feature Live Stats.
