Women's Basketball Preview: Seattle U

Game Notes

POCATELLO, Idaho-
 Idaho State women's basketball hosts Seattle U on Monday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. (MST) in Reed Gym.

Admission to the match is $5-$8 for GA and $7-$12 for lower level seating.  The game will feature Live Stats, Live Video (Pluto TV Channel 543) and Audio brought to you by KISU 91.1 with the pregame show starting at approximately 6:40 p.m. (MST).

Scouting Seattle U
Seattle U finished the 2018-19 season with a 3-27 overall record including a 3-13 record in the Western Athletic Conference. The Redhawks started their 2019-20 season with a win over Saint Martin's (91-81) and a loss to Utah State (70-63).

The Redhawks roster includes five seniors, six international players (Australia, Spain, Portugal) and three transfers (Boise State, Hawaii, San Jose State) after graduating only two seniors from last year's class.

ISU leads the all-time series 3-0 with the last meeting in 2017 in Seattle. Estefania Ors led four players in double figures scoring 19 points along with 10 boards as the Bengals won 74-69. 

Seattle U is led by 4th-year Head Coach Suzy Barcomb.

Arizona Christian Recap
The Bengals defeated the Arizona Christian Firestorm 93-36 in Reed Gym on Nov. 5. The +57 point spread was tied for the 3rd largest spread in program history. It ties the mark first set during the 2017-2018 season in a 89-32 win over Idaho.

Idaho State shot 39-77 from the field, for a 50.6 shooting percentage. They also went 6-16 from beyond the three point arc and 9-11 from the free-throw line.

The Bengals led by as many as 61 points and four Bengals scored in the double digits.

Ellie Smith led the team in scoring with a career-high 14 points. She was 7-9 from the field with three boards and one assist. She also recorded two blocks in the game.

Callie Bourne, Estefania Ors and Tomekia Whitman also scored in the double digits with the trio accounting for 33 of the Bengals 93 points. Ors finished with 12, Bourne 11 and Whitman 10.

On the glass, the Bengals were dominant recording 40 rebounds,16 coming on the offensive end. The Bengals accounted for 22 second chance points. Dora Goles and Ors led the team with five and six boards a piece.

Defensively, the Orange and Black forced 33 turnovers with 17 steals leading to 52 points. Diaba Konate led the team with four steals.
