Dear Volleyball,

Thank you for taking me on a journey of a lifetime. Thank you for the doors that you have opened, the education I have received, the places I've been and the experiences that you have given me. Thank you for being such a huge part of my story and allowing me to create everlasting memories. I will never forget the laughs, tears, road trips, team retreats and the knee-high socks. You have taught me how to overcome mistakes, stick up for yourself, be competitive and show passion. You also taught me the true meaning of a team. That in order to be a part of a team, you have to be selfless, loving and understanding. That a team can be one of the greatest gifts you can ever be given.

We have definitely had our differences, and at times I didn't think we were going to make it, but for every obstacle you put into my way, you gave me someone with the tools to help me overcome it. There was always family, teammates, trainers or coaches to help me every step of the way. With each and every game, win or lose, I always learned from you. I learned from you that you were just a game and that the outcome of the game did not define who I was as a player or person. And there are far greater things that you have to offer besides wins and losses. While you have brought out every emotion in me, but even when you broke me down, you were still able to build me back up.

Most importantly, you brought the most amazing people into my life that I was able to share all the highs and lows with. Thank you for providing me with coaches that would each impact me in some unique way. Thank you for providing a support staff that was always looking for ways to help athletically and academically. Thank you for opening up a world of opportunities through these relationships. And thank you for giving me some of my most valued friendships, that I will hold onto for the rest of my life. I cannot imagine my life without my best friends, many of which were given to me through the love that we shared for you. These friendships will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Thank you for teaching me how to be a part of something so much bigger than myself and for shaping me into the person I am today. You helped me figure out my values, who I am, and who I want to be. Thank you for letting me live out my dream of being a college volleyball player. The opportunity to wear Idaho State across my chest these past two years has been nothing short of what I have dreamt of. So, here's to you, volleyball. You will be missed, but I cannot wait to see how you impact all those that choose to go on a journey with you.
