Men's Basketball Hosts UCSB on Monday

Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. following the 5 p.m. women's games vs. Cal Baptist.

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team plays its final home game before Big Sky Conference play starts on Dec. 28. The Bengals host UC Santa Barbara at 7:30 p.m. in Reed Gym. The game is a doubleheader as the women host Cal Baptist at 5 p.m. All seating is general admission except for the courtside seats. Jerry Miller and Brad Bugger will call the men's game on 102.5 KMGI with the pregame show starting 30 minutes before tipoff. Scouting UCSB
UCSB is 6-3 and plays at SUU on Dec. 14. UCSB scores 73.8 points a game and shoots 47.1 percent from the field. The Gauchos shoot 32.1 percent from the three-point line, and 76.2 percent from the free throw line. They average 36 rebounds, 14 assists, 11.9 turnovers, 4.6 steals and 2.8 blocks. Opponents are scoring 69.3 points and shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 37 percent from the three-point line. Amadou Sow scores 15.9 points a game and Max Heidegger is scoring 14 a game.

Recapping Last Week
- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 77-65 to Pepperdine on Dec. 6 at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, Calif.
- Idaho State shot 41.5 percent from the field while Pepperdine shot 46.2 percent. The Bengal defense held Pepperdine to 1-17 shooting from the three-point line but only managed to make six 3's on 20 attempts.
- Idaho State was 15-24 from the free throw line while the Wave made 16-17 from the line. The Bengals were out rebounded for the first time this season, 39-32.
- Tarik Cool led Idaho State in scoring with 21 points. He was 7-17 from the field and 3-7 from the three-point line. Jared Stutzman had 13 points. He was 3-5 from the field while making six free throws on eight attempts.
- Chidi Udengwu was the top rebounder with seven.

Pepperdine Notes 
- Tarik Cool played a season-high 29 minutes. 
- Coreyoun Rushin's eight field goal attempts was a season-high. 
- Austin Smellie's 21 minutes tied his season-high. 
- This was the first loss for the Bengals when leading at halftime. 
- This was the first time the Bengals have been out rebounded by an opponent. 

NCAA Stat Rankings
- Idaho State ranks 38th in rebounding margin and second in the conference. ISU out rebounds its opponents by 7.6 a game. 
- Idaho State ranks first in three-point field goal defense and first in the conference. ISU is holding opponents to 18.6 percent shooting from the three-point line. 
- Idaho State is 32nd in field goal percentage is first in the conference at 48.3 percent.
