POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team concluded play at the UC Davis Aggie Invitational on Sunday by beating Saint Mary's 6-3 and losing to Seattle U 6-1. The Bengals are now 5-6 on the season.
The Saint Mary's game on Saturday was called in the bottom of the fifth due to darkness. It was picked up again Sunday morning with the game tied at three.
In the bottom of the sixth inning,
Billie Jean Wells led off with a single to left and she later advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by
Amber Arreola.
Jayden DeMoss then walked and later with two outs
MaKenzie Van Sickle hit a three-run homer to center field to give the Bengals a 6-3 lead.
Idaho State had six hits and committed two errors. Saint Mary's had five hits and one error.
Van Sickle was one 1-2 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
Cassidy FitzGerald was 2-2 with three RBIs.
Mailee Newman pitched two innings and allowed two runs and struck out two. Pease struck out two and walked three in the final five innings.

MaKenzie Van Sickle came up with a big three-run homer run. We finished strong with good pitching, hitting and defense. Seattle U got on us early but we battled. We are continuing to work on little things that will help us in the future."
Against Seattle U, the Bengals trailed 1-0 after the first inning and 2-0 after six innings. Seattle then scored four runs in the top of the seventh to lead 6-0. Idaho State scored one run in the bottom of the seventh.
The Bengals had four hits and committed two errors. Seattle had 12 hits.
Mariah Mulcahy pitched six innings and took the loss. She allowed eight hits, two runs, struck out six and walked one.
The Bengals return to the field for the Colorado State Classic Feb. 28-March 3. The Bengals play Colorado State, Nebraska, Stony Brook and Santa Clara.
