POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team lost 3-0 to Northern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon at the UC Riverside Tournament. The Bengals out hit Northern Kentucky 7-6.
"We didn't muster any back-to-back hits with people in scoring position," Idaho State coach
Candi Letts said. "They had timely hits."
Haley Harrison was 2-4 to lead the Bengal offense.
Mariah Mulcahy took the loss. She pitched 5.1 innings, allowed six hits, three runs (two earned), three walks while striking out six.
Mailee Newman pitched the final two outs.
The game was scoreless through four innings. Northern Kentucky scored two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth inning.
Idaho State closes out play at UC Riverside with a 9:30 a.m. game against Northern Kentucky and a 12 p.m. game against UC Riverside.
Idaho State then hosts Utah Valley University in a double header at Miller Ranch Stadium. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
