POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team returns home to host Utah State on Wednesday, April 3 at 3 p.m. at Miller Ranch Stadium.

Scouting Utah State
Utah State is 11-17 and 2-6 in Mountain West Conference play. Riley Plogger leads the Aggies offense with a .359 batting average. Bailee Trapp is hitting ,356 with six home runs and 19 RBIs. Lexi Orozco is batting .346 with six homers and 24 RBIs. Utah State is hitting .283 as a team. The pitching staff boasts a 6.12 era. Delaney Hull is 7-6 with a 5.83 era in 72 innings of work.
Recapping Montana
 The Idaho State softball team took two of three at Montana last weekend. The Bengals won the first two games, 3-2 and 6-1 and lost 4-3 in eight innings on Sunday.
The Idaho State softball team won its sixth straight game on Saturday, beating Montana 3-2 and 6-1 in Missoula, Montana. The Bengals improved to 13-16 overall and 4-0 in Big Sky Conference play. The six-game winning streak is the longest since the 2016 season.
Idaho State pounded out 16 hits on the day.
Aubrey Creekmore led the attack with a 4-6 day. She scored three runs, had one double, two home runs and four RBIs.
Emma Bordenkecher was 4-8 and scored one run while
MaKenzie Van Sickle had three hits and two RBIs and
Jayden DeMoss had two hits.
The Bengal pitching was solid all afternoon.
Autumn Pease earned the 3-2 win. She went seven innings, struck out nine, walked one and allowed only six hits.
Mariah Mulcahy earned the win in game 2, pitching 5.1 innings, allowing six hits, one run, four walks and two strike outs.
Kelsea Sweeney tossed the final 1.2 innings and struck out three.
In game 3 on Sunday, the Bengals had 10 hits, led by
Aubrey Creekmore going 3-3 with one RBI.
MaKenzie Van Sickle and
Haley Harrison each had two hits.
Montana had 10 hits and
Autumn Pease took the loss. She pitched the final 3.2 innings, allowed four hits, two runs, three walks and struck out five.
Kelsea Sweeney went the first four innings. She scattered six hits, allowed two runs (only one earned) and three walks.
And The Winner Is...
For the second-straight week Idaho State won a weekly Big Sky Award.
Aubrey Creekmore has been named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for her performances against the Montana Grizzlies on the road this week. The senior put on an impressive display both at the plate and in the field to secure the honor for the first time in her career.
Creekmore hit .778 (7-9) over the three-game series while scoring three runs, tallying five RBIs and securing five extra-base hits including two home runs. She posted a 1.778 slugging percentage and reached base safely in eight of 10 plate appearances with no strikeouts.
Creekmore was 1-3 with one run scored as ISU took the 3-2 win in game 1. In game 2, she finished 3-3 with two home runs, a double, two runs scored and four RBIs to lift the Bengals to a 6-1 victory. She closed out the series with another perfect day at the plate, finishing 3-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Creekmore also flashed her leather with a flawless fielding percentage at shortstop in the trio of games.
The Bengals finished 2-1 against the Griz to improve to 4-1 in conference play. Their two wins on Saturday gave the team a six-game winning streak, the longest since the 2016 season.
Creekmore's player of the week nod is the fifth conference honor for Idaho State this season which is the most for the program since 2015.
