Bengals Host Sac State on Senior Day

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team plays its final regular season series May 3-4 vs. Sacramento State at Miller Ranch Stadium. Friday's doubleheader starts at 2 p.m. and Saturday's single-game begins at 1 p.m. Saturday is Senior Day and prior to the start of the game Mariah Mulcahy, MaKenzie Van Sickle, Haley Harrison, Aubrey Creekmore and Courtney Wiley will be honored. Scouting Sacramento State
Sacramento State enters the final regular season series with a 29-20 record and a 9-5 record in the Big Sky Conference. Mo Spieth leads the offense with a .394 batting average in 12 games. Nene Alas is batting .361 and Krystal Aubert is hitting .350. Aubert has a team-high 13 homers and 36 RBIs. In conference play Aubert is hitting .444 with seven homers and 17 RBIs. Briana Bowers is hitting .432 in league. Savanna Corr leads the pitching staff with a 2.17 era and a 19-10 record in 190.1 innings of work. Danielle Sperry has pitched 83 innings and is 8-3 with a 3.29 era.

Senior Day
This is the final home weekend for Mariah Mulcahy, Aubrey Creekmore, Haley Harrison, Courtney Wiley and MaKenzie Van Sickle. The five Bengals will be honored prior to the start of the Saturday's game at 12:45 p.m.

Recapping Southern Utah
Idaho State qualified for the Big Sky tournament last weekend by taking two of three games from SUU in Cedar City. The Bengals took game 1 and 3, 5-3 and 7-3 and lost game 2 12-4 in five innings. Frankie Tago led the offensive attack, by going 4-7 with two doubles and one homer. Emma Bordenkecher was 5-10 with a homer and three RBIs and Courtney Wiley was 3-6. Idaho State hit .368 in the three games. Autumn Pease earned the win in game 1, allowing nine hits, three runs and a season-high 11 strikeouts. Kelsea Sweeney earned the game 3 win.
