Bengals Drop Two in Pullman

POCATELLO, Idaho-
Idaho State volleyball opened the Washington State tournament falling to Washington State (3-0) and Liberty University (3-0) on Sept. 13 in Pullman, Wash.
 
Sophomore Duquesne Moratzka led the team with 21 kills on the day.

"Playing on the road is hard," Head Coach Sammi Stuart said. "We are growing and learning and gaining a ton of experience."

The Bengals recorded 28 kills in the match against Washington State's 47. Moratzka tallied 10 kills followed by senior Haylie Keck with seven and senior Brooke Pehrson with five. Redshirt freshman Andri Dewey had 25 assists.
 
Defensively, sophomore Mahala Bradburn had nine digs and Keck recorded eight.
 
Liberty University
Moratzka recorded 11 kills for a .308 hitting percentage and two blocks while Keck and Pehrson each had seven kills. Pehrson also recorded a .273 hitting percentage and had four blocks.
 
Junior Chelsea Vaughan and Dewey led the team defensively, Vaughan with 15 assists and Dewey with 11.

"Every match we need to find a way to get a little bit better," Stuart said. "Keep grinding and find our process."
 
Idaho State looks to earn a victory tomorrow against UT Arlington at 1:30 p.m. (MST). The match will have Live Stats and Live Video available.
